Surprisingly, no
Drosophila. My professor *hates* raising them. Too messy and smelly. We do study
Manduca (look up the larvae, they look really cool!) and
Oncopeltus (which are a beautiful orange). Unfortunately, I can't say that they live particularly happy lives--especially the manduca. Some of our research entails putting them on starvation diets, or extracting certain organs from them >.>
Mascot suggestions? How about a manduca larva?
