Spoiler
She's pretty fierce looking. The most I usually see are tiny little house spiders and the occasional wolf spider, and a few daddy long legs.

Ah, it's just an orbweaver, perfectly harmless. I'm not so familiar with spiders, so I don't know what species she might be. Don't worry about her.

I wasn't worried (I didn't want her to come into the house, though ), but I am happy to know what she is ^^; Thanks for your help, Cass She's a beauty, I'll be keeping an eye on her. I hope a bird doesn't get her, I'm sure she's keeping mosquitoes out of my house!Cassowary wrote:Ah, it's just an orbweaver, perfectly harmless. Man, I need more spiders at my house >_> Right now I only have one banana spider outside my house (I named him Voodoo) and it's the first I've seen in three years. The flies are getting so unbearable I'd give a few toes just to have them all gone.

I've decided to name her Mephala, after the Daedric Prince in The Elder Scrolls. One of Mephala's names is Webspinner, and I thought it was fitting for her - her web in the corner of the deck is large and beautiful. I was watching her feed earlier today. She's so beautiful.

Spoiler
I like how their head looks like a skull :3 satifyingly creepy, in a way.
EDIT: they are called golden silk spiders.
