Shenzi, I don't see why you feel you have to prove your point so much, or why you think that I think there's some sort of law (when I've stated twice I don't).

When it all adds up, I think people would rather the superior defensive capabilities of heavy armour than the inferior capabilties of light just so they can move faster, sprint for longer and have more inventory space (though at a moderate level, I think, there is a heavy armour perk which reduces the weight of heavy armour).

Assassins and thieves are basically the same thing. When I was referring to thieves, I was also talking about assassins.
Yes, armour is important for them when they can't kill something in one hit. Which is why I use Nightingale, as it has a superior defensive rating when compared to glass (and also gives me some nice thief perks, like increased pickpocketing).

My argument about armour values is not redundant. With the right enchantments, you could craft steel and elven armour to that level, but if you had Daedric, you could enchant it to increase things other than defense.

Edit: Found this on a Skyrim Wiki
Skills should synergize—they need to work well together and complement each other. For example, combining Archery and Destruction may not be the best approach: both do essentially the same thing, staggering and killing things at range, so they're often redundant, and you can only use one or the other at any given time. Meanwhile, Archery prefers a high Stamina, while Destruction requires massive amounts of Magicka. Whichever of the two attributes you increase during a level, the skill depending on the other will soon suffer.
So why then would a thief use Destruction magic?

I also found another quote from the same page.
Stealth means no magic without the quiet casting perk.

On an unrelated topic, I think the best racial power is definitely the Orc's Berserker Rage. Seriously, you take half damage while dealing double? That's some serious ownage right there.
An Orc in Daedric, wielding a Daedric Battleaxe while using Berserker Rage... O_O
I pity any who come upon such an over-powered character.
Oh, but unfortunately it doesn't work against magic. Luckily most enemies don't use magic, though. XD

*doesn't read everything before this post*

Is the dragon bone light armor the best light armor in the game?

Or is it something else?

I'd like to know so that I can either start working my way up in blacksmithing and blacksmithing perks, or not.

No, it isn't. Nightingale armour has better defense than Dragon, as well as having good thief enchantments.

Also, apparently thieves might sometimes randomly give you 500 gold if you're wearing all of the Nightingale set.

I don't actually like the Nightingale armor at all because the enchantments aren't as useful to me as the basic Thieves' Guild armor. And it squishes my lizardy little face. XD
Given the chance, I prefer to level up my smithing and enchanting and make dragonscale armor with custom enchantments. You get twice the enchantments (dual enchanting perk) with some awesome-looking armor. :yarly:

^This.

I much prefer training my smithing and then put the enchantments on that suits my need. The Nightgale armor looks nice but that's as far as it goes for me.

But the Nightgale is a leveled item so the later in the game you get it the better.

IMO, the best thief armor would be the Guild Master's Armor you get once you complete the quest line of the thieves guild. Carrying capacity, increased % in lockpick, pickpocket and prices feel like something a thief could really use. (I myself run out of space awfully quickly when in towns XD )

The armor itself has some good ratings, and after checking the TES Wiki, it actually has higher standard ratings compared to the Nightingale armor. I don't know how it is with the upgrades and differences in ratings, nor am I sure I compared them correctly, but what the heck.

I roll with GM's armor and hood, while having Nightingale boots and gloves, and it works perfectly for my bow loving wood elf, but yeah, I'm not the best at this.

Linwe's armor should be mentioned though, as it has some cool enchantments like increased stamina and increased % in sneaking, bows and one-handed attacks.

What am I rambling on about.... Shut me up already!

Because you seem to think you know (ahem, everything, actually) exactly what everyone needs and that they all play a specific play style.

For the most part, yes. Thieves Guild, Nightingale, and Ancient Shrouded armor is also a good choice, but those are already enchanted and cannot be smithed.

Also, it's dragon SCALE armor.

Ah, I'm a derp, Dragon bone is the heavy armor isn't it?xD I am still a little new to some of the skyrim things as this is my first time really sticking with a character and playing for a while. Thanks Shenzi, I'll probably go with Thieves Guild Armor since I'm a lazy f*ck when it comes to smithing and enchanting. :haha:

Just made like 5 pieces of everything in dragonplate and dragonscale and then upgraded everything to legendary and I still have over 40 dragon bones left. I've killed a lot of dragons I guess! XD

I'm not going to run out of money for a while. I'm still keeping Daedric armor and gave Vilkas a full set of the Dragonplate armor.

Also, went and trained in heavy armor from Farkas, ended up spending 11k gold. So I told Vilkas to go home and then asked Farkas to follow me and I took back my gold. Nothing like free training lessons!

Lol Gingy, ikr? XD
I got my Heavy Armour skill from like, 30 to 50 via Farkas, and my One-Handedness from about 40 to like, 80 via Athis!
Soooo epic. >:)
This was in the short space of like, 1 in-game week. >:D

Oh, I forgot about the GM's armour. I haven't got that far into the Thieves' Guild questline.
