Re: Bug-Lover's Club
Oh, Lazuli, this might interest you-did a bit of digging, and there are millipedes that are not dissimilar in shape to your ancient one. These are the polydesmid millipedes, or the flat millipedes.
They come in a wide variety of colors, but this species is found in the Eastern U.S. and Canada. Not sure of the exact relation between these and the ancient one though.
Re: Bug-Lover's Club
Oh wow, they're still alive! Now all we have to do is tweak their genes into supersizing them.
They are so derpy. I think it's the inordinate number of legs.
And the plate patterning is badass.
The worst/best part about robot insects (especially social ones) is that, unlike an andriod or other human-like robot, they function simply by reacting to stimuli, similar to how real insects react; this simple behavior, when combined with other ingrained commands, can result in intelligent-seeming emergent behaviors (I might be misusing a few terms there). So they could be dumber than calculators (hey, the space shuttle was) and still be able to take over the world.

They'll have to fight it out with our current insect overlords since they technically outnumber us by 100,000,000 to 1Padfootsmistress777 wrote:I for one welcome our new robo-bug overlords

Re: Bug-Lover's Club
Not so fast frozenfire! The Cockroaches will save us all in their mechs piloted by cyborg roaches! Wait, what do you mean the living and the machines have formed an unholy alliance? And that armies of robo bug and bug are marching grinder-in-mandible upon our cities? Why didn't we just make human mechs anyway?!
Re: Bug-Lover's Club
And worst yet... with their simple nervous systems enabling them to survive headless for long periods of time, we will be fighting ZOMBIE CYBORG INSECT ROBOTS.
DoooOOOOoooooOOOOoooooomMmmmmmedddddd.
