I imagine this to look like a cheetah. The hatchling would be kittenish and fuzzy, with a spotty pattern, while the adult would have the leggy, rangy look of wild cheetahs, only with a more mottled camouflauge pattern. It would be wonderful if this creature could be coded similar to the frog, so that it changes colours throughout the day. The egg would be spotted like the roc egg, but with darker, more distinct colours and a more random pattern. It could have a long slender spotted tail poking out.
egg: This egg is spotted in a pattern that blends in to the shadows around it.
hatchling:The chameleopard hatchling resembles a large, fuzzy spotted kitten. It's paws are overlarge for it's body, an indicator of the great size it will one day attain. Like most kittens, it is frisky and curious, and demands a great deal of attention. It loves to bat items around, and particularly enjoys knocking your magi apparatus from the table top to the floor. The kit seems to spend most of it's time running about and exploring, or sleeping soundly, usually on a pile of manuscripts.
adult:When grown, the chameleopard is a handsome creature, large and sleek and capable of surprising speed. It's blurry spots have developed into a shifting camoflauge pattern that blends into it's surroundings. Though grown, it is still playful and enjoys using it's ability to sneak up on you when you least expect it. A highly intellegent creature, it enjoys being in the presence of mage-work, often purring noisily in the background. The chameleopard is a faithful and affectionate companion for any magi lucky enough to tame one.
general:The chameleopard is native to the Silva Forest, where it tends to live in the trees, using it's ability to blend into it's environment for both hunting and play. Their mottled colouration shifts with their surroundings, and a sleeping chameleopard is practically invisible. Many a magi has walked right past a napping chameleopard without ever realising it was nearby. Unlike most great cats, they are not solitary and tend to live in small groups. With their intellegence and social nature they adapt well to domestication, making them a very sought after pet, especially for younger magi who are not yet skilled in dealing with magical creatures.
