he Alasre mountains that split Silva from the East have a split themselves, allowing for an easier passage to Silva. A small encampment on the Silva side called Mountain Pass Junction grew there out of an interest in helping travelers. It is a halfway point and the last settlement before the Keep, so it is important to travelers intending to spend a lot of time travelling in either region.Most of the population is transient or seasonal. Many of those who pass through are magi stocking up on supplies for expeditions into Silva Forest or the mountains. The winters can get very cold here, so some of the resident population also leave for warmer climates in winter.
For those intending to stay a short while or who are snowed in, the Zephyr Lodge offers comfortable, warm lodgings with a staff that makes some of the best hot chocolate in the eastern lands. Many people visit just to have a cup.
