On May 10th 2024 Magistream will turn 15 years. Ever since May 2009 we've been able to enjoy all the amazing art, descriptions, community and shenanigans around the site! Thank you to each and every one of you who've stuck with us, be it for the duration of the 15 years, or if you've just found us, or anything in between!
For this year's birthday celebrations we have quite the bonanza planned!
Here is a rough outline of what to expect:
Creatures
New creatures will be available intermittently starting from May 10th. We will be looking out for more than one release, spread out to different release dates throughout the event.
All past Crystalwings make a comeback. For the duration of May 10th - May 31st you will be able to obtain any of the past crystalwings. Some will be easier to get, and some will be harder to get or more limited in availability. Most past crystalwings will be found in the Keep in the World.
Egg slot increase
The egg slot amount will be raised by five on May 10th lasting up to and including May 31st. This means you can get ten regular eggs, and up to fourteen, if at least the last four are donation creature eggs.
Gifting
Gifting will be possible starting from May 10th and lasting up to and including May 17th. Opening gifts will be possible starting from May 18th.
For those new to the site or gifting events, here's a quick break-down as to what gifting means:
- You can gift unfrozen eggs and hatchlings to other users.
- In order to gift a creature, click on "Give" on the creature's page or next to the creature in your keep view, fill in the recipient's username, fill in a note if you want, and send it.
- You can gift an unlimited amount of creatures, but only three creatures to any one person.
- You can receive a maximum of 25 presents. In order to see how many presents you have, check your profile, or go to your Keep page and scroll to the bottom. If you see no mention of presents then you don't have any yet.
- To help people with finding other people to gift, the amount of gifts people already have can be seen on the person's profile as well as on topic view. It is possible to turn off seeing the gift counter from your profile settings, "Show Gift Count"-checkbox.
- Gifting enough gifts gives you a profile badge.
- Remy will be serving a new celebratory drink
- You never know, maybe some other things as well!
