Wooow, that is SO COOL. I gotta tell my bug buddies about this, a few of them have tarantulas and I don't they even know about this!

And hush you, I'm going to make all of them... eventually. It'll just take a long, long time for me to get around to it.

And moths

Speaking of moths, my dad found a tomato caterpillar cocoon in the garden once. It hatched into a hawk moth

I find mantids slightly intimidating. Especially the females. I'll sit and watch them all day, but their grabby appendages kind of scare me

I actually used to have a recurring mantis line-pretty sure it was a series of direct descendants-that I saw in my yard during the summer for about 4 years. Then one winter I noticed the egg sac, but it had kind of a cobweb around it. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I don't think I've seen them since.

I once found a tomato caterpillar as well. Unfortunately for me, it had been parasitized...that kind of turned me off from raising any more caterpillars.

Anyone here ever flip over stones and logs to see what was underneath them when you were little?

That sounds...awful *shudders* well I have a strong, strong hatred of parasites so...yeah owo

I used to turn logs over all the time X3 Actually, when my grandfather lived upstate we would go hiking the woods near his house and we would always turn logs and such over, we found lots of salamanders, not that I know what kind they were, but it was so cool :3

Really? What did they look like? Any particular pattern on them?

The worst thing was, I had already had it for a week before I found out...
