Why can't you have invert pets Cass?

Because living at home is cheaper than living in a dorm and my mother wouldn't allow it. Plus, I tend to travel fairly often, so I wouldn't be able to keep any long-lived inverts without worrying about finding a bugsitter/having mom flush it again.

Ah. I consider myself lucky that my parents let me have the one tarantula, and it took me nearly a year to do it-also, Arachne was a graduation present. When I tested the waters about more inverts, I was rather emphatically refused. So yeah, no more for me until I get my own place.


Edit: Who here didn't know about the finding that tarantulas apparently can secrete silk from their feet as wqell as the abdominal spinarets?

You know how tarantulas are quite heavy, right? Well, apparently they have tiny silk glands on their feet which help them hold on to surfaces. You can look into it a little more if you like-focusing on that might make for an interesting creature for here, come to think of it.
