Just popping in to say hey

Kitten season is a pain in the arse.

First we had the grey pair, followed closely by a litter of four and their mother. Just after all of those go off to foster homes, we find Sable, and her brother Tux a few days after that. When we've got them socialized and Sable's healing from her abscess, we hear from the kitty adoption group that two of the foursome are just not socializing, and can they be returned to the colony. They're currently in the kennel in the back yard, though we let them out for a little while at times, so they'll learn the lay of the land. Meanwhile Sable and Tux are ready to be fixed and find forever homes.

Tonight a neighbor brought over a tiny kitten dropped in her yard when her dog chased the mother out of it - amazingly the dog completely ignored the kitten. This thing is about 2-3 weeks old, so needs bottle feeding every few hours for the next couple weeks. Heck, it still needs manual stimulation to pee! It's been 15 years since I dealt with kittens this small! My only comfort is that all 3 of those kittens grew up fine - I still have one of them, now a very sweet but very greedy old man cat. So I know I can raise a kitten this age. Of course, in less than 3 weeks I'm supposed to go to Vegas, and that will only be when we start to wean this baby. And the hotel I'm staying at does not allow cats.

Wish me luck please? I'm going to see if I can beg my way high enough in the hotel hierarchy that someone will let me bring this kitten. Otherwise I don't know what I'll do.

to put it simply as to why I haven't been doing much but trying to collect critter eggs and procrastinating on sending out the message is due to medical situations and other fun stuff!

I had a cyst on my neck that ended up being infected with Staph. Boyfriend contracted cellulitus mid-way last week from it because I didn't have it covered for as long as I should have had it covered after I figured it was healed (it was on my neck, he likes to kiss my neck :< ) so that was stressful.

And projects. Projects out the butt because projects. teachers love projects. I don't like projects. auugh. I sent 33 files to one Teacher last week and it sort of burnt me out.

Thankfully we are - Mine is almost gone and it's pretty much healed up, but my doctor told me to keep an eye on it while it's still discolored. His lip is healing pretty quickly, but he got to the doctor faster than I did.
