Re: Need opinions and tips...

I think you spent a little too long setting the scene. It was cold, we got the idea, you didn't need to put in five examples (a little exaggertion). I'd rather that you cut out a paragraph or two and get straight to the action. Didn't really read much of the second one, though it seems a bit like th...

Re: Need opinions and tips...

Additional detail is a bit boring. Like, I got really bored with Christopher Paolini's Inheritance, because it was so long and there was too much unnecessary detail. >_> So you should really watch carefully what you put into your story if that is your writing style. What I'm trying to say is, if you...

Re: Need help.

Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson myth/urban blend certainly inspired part of this, but there isn't going to be too much of an emphasis on the mythology, just really an explanation for their fighting ability. Otherwise it's just going to look too unbelievable if some ordinary kid who just trains archery ...

Re: Need help.

Gah, now I've got a new story idea, inspired by John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series. Someone kill me now D: D< Not cool Johnny! Not cool! But anyway, I think I might just outline The Carrow Chronicles, but not really flesh it out into a story - more just flash fiction (which I won't post, bec...

Re: Need help.

Thanks Lily and Tangle. Yea, I love sequels as well, but sometimes I find (and I know others confirm this) that sometimes the author should have just left the series where it was and not written sequels. I know sometimes that the series has to go on, due to loose ends (like Suzanne Collins' Hunger G...

Re: Need help.

Well, yes, that's kinda what I meant. It was essentially the question of, "should I do ____ or ____ first?"
That is, of course, why I put the fourth one - help me come up with a different ending.
Oh, I love the darker paths. ^-^

I like to plan out my stories so I don't have to do it later.

Re: Religion- Read first post please

I do look at things in the Bible which interest me, and those I use when talking to Christians. I didn't mean that I didn't know anything about the Bible except things like Creationism and Noah's Ark. What I meant was that, you can't disprove gravity. It's there. An apple falls if thrown into the ai...

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim ;; The Official Guild

No, it isn't. Nightingale armour has better defense than Dragon, as well as having good thief enchantments.

Also, apparently thieves might sometimes randomly give you 500 gold if you're wearing all of the Nightingale set.

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim ;; The Official Guild

Shenzi, I don't see why you feel you have to prove your point so much, or why you think that I think there's some sort of law (when I've stated twice I don't). When it all adds up, I think people would rather the superior defensive capabilities of heavy armour than the inferior capabilties of light ...
