Watership Down by Richard Adams. This books is a beautiful story full of joy and sorrow that is also beautifully written. I have read it at least a dozen times and I am still enraptured by the storytelling.

If I ruled my own island, I would just lay in a comfy chair and read all day. I would get my own food, but other people would be in charge of keeping my fridge well stocked.

I think that breeding programs for endangered species are helpful because they keep an animal alive that would otherwise be dead.
