As you stroll along the bank of the Koi pond on an especially sunny day, you idly reach into your pocket and pull out a few coins to toss in. You stare in astonishment at the fish that emerges to accept your offering. It glitters in the sunlight as if its scales were made of a thousand diamonds. You're completely drenched with water as it splashes its way towards you. Upon reaching the shore you notice an egg cradled gently in its mouth. It motions with its tail for you to take it. You reach out, accepting what looks to be the largest egg you've ever seen, and glittering even more than its parent. You know that it will make a wonderful companion for all your watery adventures! A small scroll nearby contains instructions for your new friend's care. It says: Dear Traveler, congratulations on being the recipient of an egg from one of my pets. As a favor I would ask that you find your friend a mate that is stream-caught koi to keep the family pure. Regards, Lithuen
