Amongst primitive tribes living in the bird's range, the roc is considered a sacred bird, and its feathers are used in ceremony, for decoration, and to fletch their arrows, believing that the bird's strength and speed would ensure that they would never miss a target, while some tribes would go so far as to keep one in their village.
The Flighted family considers themselves descendants of the sacred rocs living in those villages.
