Aeturnus sharks are the guardians of the Present. They swim amidst the threads of Magic that are weaved in the making of the world, though they are capable of taking physical form. Their role is to maintain the order of Time, and guard it against any wayward ones who seek to interfere with its passage.
While unable to wield magic like the Magi and their creatures, the Aeturnii possess the ability to see into the quintessence of one's being, and occasionally allow their companions to share this insight. Truth, lies and deception are as one to these sharks, because they see wholly what one 'is', and not the 'was', or 'will be'.
