In times of peace, not much is said of the Keep's defenses. For one thing, it is hardly necessary; the great crowd of magi and companion-beasts that filter in and out of its gates every day are defense enough. In older times this was not always the case, however, and one relic of those days is the Skyguard, a clan of birds that serve as an aerial militia. They are proud creatures, and their eggs are harder to come by than those of others of their species.
