Members of the Frostfire-flock are widely known as powerful fighters and equally wise allies to the Magi brave enough to tame them.
It is said that the first members of the Frostfires, named Mistral and Ayreon, were sworn enemies of the poachers travelling Arkene; They summoned cruel storms of hail and ice whenever those when moving near their territory, wreaking havoc on the roads leading to Synaria.
They met Faeryl, nothing but a brash and unsuspecting novice of the arcane arts back then, during one of these stormy nights, and whatever it was that happened between them - it was surely enough to, figuratively, 'break the ice' between Magi and creature. Surprisingly both Mistral and Ayreon joined him on his road back to the Keep, and shortly afterwards formed the Frostfire-flock, sealing their bond by giving their firstborn into the hands of the caring, human friend.
